I can’t even be sarcastic about this, it really bothers me a lot. If I’m talking to you the least you can do is pay attention.
The same goes for when I’m talking on the phone. I don’t make very many phone calls and the last few times the people I’m talking to, while I’m talking, completely tune me out to talk to someone else.
“Oh I’m sorry, what was that you were saying?”
How about you pay some attention and I won’t have to repeat myself?
It’s a common courtesy to listen to someone when they’re speaking to you and then digest what they say to give back an intelligent response. If you can’t be bothered to do that then you have no business entering my life and then making me listen to your diatribes. I don’t have time to waste on things like that but I make time for it because I genuinely care for and are interested in the things that make you you.
But If it’s one sided then get the hell out of my life.
